Don't Be Mean Behind the Screen

A video project in collaboration with Lillington Nursery and Primary School.

As part of the school's annual initiatve to engage students in a creative project, the idea was for us to work with some of the students to produce a video that would also serve to raise awareness about cyber-bullying. A rudimentary script was given to my partner and I and we had roughly 2 hours a day for a week during the students' lunch break to shoot. Ultimately, the children had a lot of fun being involved in the project in numerous ways as well as learning from us basic filmmaking skills which they intend to put to use in subsequent projects.
A short film made by Jason Chua and Kotryna Sniukaite, starring children from Lillington Nursery and Primary School.

This film deals with the pervasive issue of bullying, focusing specifically on the kind of abuse that is perpetrated online and through text messaging.
We hope that this may spread awareness of cyberbullying and may encourage children and teens who are suffering from bullying to talk to someone they trust about their experiences.
If you have suffered or are currently suffering from bullying, remember that it is never your fault and that nobody deserves to be treated this way. Don't be afraid to seek support from a trustworthy friend, a family member, a teacher, or a helpline. You are not alone. Help is available!
If you witness someone getting bullied, please report it to an adult. Be someone's hero!
